Dr. S.K. Sama is of the most renowned physicians and medical administrators in India. During the course of his illlustrious career, he has been bestowed numerous awards in recognition for his excellence in administrative and professional work: The Padma Shri, awarded in 2004 by President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in recognition of his contribution in the field of medical science; Dr. B.C.Roy National Award in the highest category of Medicalman-cum-Statesman, and several other prestigious awards including Punjabi Rattan Award, DMA Ratna Award, Bharat Jyoti Award, Bhaskar Award, Human Care Award of Excellence, Delhi Rattan Award, to name a few.
He was appointed Personal Physician to the President of India (2001). He joined Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in 1974, and served as Chairman of the hospital from 1995–2006. He was responsible for development of the hospital into the premier healthcare institution of Northern India. Dr. Sama is a Trustee and Gen. Secretary of the Executive Committee of Sir Gangaram Hospital.
Dr. Devinder Singh Rana
Dr. D.S. Rana is the current Chairman of The Managing Committee, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, as well as the Chairman of the Department of Nephrology.
Dr. Rana has had an illustrious career, both in nephrology and in medical administration. He has been President of the Indian Society of Nephrology, and President of the Indian Society of Peritoneal Dialysis.
In addition he as founded several charitable foundations including the New Delhi Kidney Care Foundation, the Renal Care Foundation, New Delhi, Parvati Education & Health Society, Himachal Pradesh, and Parvati Hospital, Himachal Pradesh.
In recognition of his work, he has been awarded several honors, including the Padma Shri by the Hon’ble President of India in the year 2009, the Delhi Ratan, and the Himachal Ratan, to name a few.
David C. Henry, FACHE, MHA
Mr. Henry has been involved with the healthcare industry for over 30 years. He began his healthcare career in 1975 at Kadlec Medical Center in the state of Washington, where in addition to being the CEO for that facility, he also had oversight responsibilities for six rural facilities in the surrounding area. In 1983, Mr. Henry joined the St. Luke’s Hospital Corporation as President and CEO where he implemented the merger of three hospital organizations into one regional organization identified as Empire Health Services. Prior to joining Northern Montana Health Care in 1994, Mr. Henry also provided corporate consulting services in the areas of restructuring, acquisition and litigation support.
Over his career, Mr. Henry has and continues to serve on numerous community and professional boards including the Washington State Insurance Trust, Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska, Chairman of the Montana Hospital Association Worker’s Compensation Board, Chairman of the New West Health Plan Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Northcentral Montana Health Care Alliance, and Executive Committee of Yellowstone Insurance Exchange, RRG.
Mr. Henry received his Masters Degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington and is a Fellow of the College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
